I picked up this Japanese brush from the studio of an artist's estate sale just because I thought it was pretty

with brown hand-painted reeds or grasses on top

with one pen mark on the textile detailed in one of the photos and some wear to the dowel

especially as a means of decorating household items

Gorgeous filled with flowers but also just on its own

Vintage Gouache on Paper Southeast Asian Painting of Floating Market Boat plates I picked up this JapaneseI love everything about this painting, from the bright red boat, to the confident figure in yellow pants fishing from the boat, to the wonderfully specific baskets full of fish and other things including what I'd guess are lemongrass stalks, to the cobalt blue sea animated with white gulls and what look like lily pads everywhere. I am not sure what the seated boy and girl are doing, but they look pretty engaged with it! I find there is an appealing
